My Freeview picture keeps freezing or pixelating. Why is this?
This could be down to several factors:
Your existing aerial or cabling may be old or of poor quality. This may require an aerial upgrade.
Your signal may not be strong enough. An amplifier may be necessary.
Your aerial may not be in the best location and will require relocating to a higher position or wherever the signal is at it’s strongest.
I can’t get Freeview in my area. Does this mean I can’t have digital TV?
Not necessarily. Post code checkers are not always accurate as they do not take into account trees, buildings and any other obstructions. A
Freeview digital test at your home using a signal strength meter is the only way to know for certain. Please call if you would like to arrange your free
home visit. Failing this, you still have the option to subscribe to cable TV, SKY or have Freesat. Please call for more information.
What is the CAI and CAI Plus?
The CAI is the recognised body for the aerial and satellite industry. CAI Plus allows engineers to be recognised as qualified digital installers. All CAI Plus
members had to have passed a CRB check, hold a minimum of £2million public liability insurance and completed a ‘Working Safely at Heights’ course.

My SKY box says ‘No satellite signal being received’
This could be for several reasons. The most common is that your dish has come off it’s alignment and will need realigning using a signal strength meter.
Another reason is that the LNB on your dish or the cabling may be faulty and need replacing. If it is neither of the above then it could either be that
a simple system software update is required or worst case, your SKY box itself is faulty.
Why does my picture deteriorate when traffic passes or there is bad weather?
If you lose picture when traffic passes, this indicates poor quality cabling i.e. single screened cable which is more susceptible to interference.
We would recommend changing this to CAI approved CT100, double screened cable. Picture loss due to adverse weather conditions occurs if your aerial
is of poor quality and is not receiving adequate signal. When there is a drop in air pressure, the atmosphere becomes denser and does not allow as
much signal to pass through. Therefore, a high gain digital aerial is recommended that obtains more signal to begin with, so that adverse weather
conditions do not affect you further (or at least much).
I’ve moved into a new house that already has an aerial, but I can’t get any channels.?
The most common reason for this is that you have an aerial amplifier situated either outside or in your loft and it requires a power supply unit.
This unit will normally be behind the main television, therefore 9 times out of 10, the previous occupants will have taken this with them unknowingly.
You will need a replacement power supply.
